Our chapter meets on the second Saturday of
the month at 2:00 p.m. at Gator Harley-Davidson on South Highway 441 in
Leesburg. Chapter meetings are usually preceded by a delicious meal
prepared by one of our members. To check out some of their recipes
On Wednesdays and Saturdays we have a group ride to one of the many excellent
restaurants here in Central Florida. It's a perfect opportunity to come out
and see how we ride. To ride with us as a chapter guest you will need to
fill out a release form (click
here). All minors, whether chapter members or not need
to fill out release forms anytime they participate in a chapter ride.
To obtain a Minor Release Form
click here, and to get a Minor's
Assumption of Risk form (required of all minors 12 -18)
click here. We use the staggered formation on all of our group rides to help ensure
everyone's safety and to make each ride as stress-free and as much fun as
possible. Click on
Group Riding Policy to find out how we
conduct group rides. Want to refresh you memory on how the staggered
formation works? Click on
Staggered Formation to get all the
details. We sponsor two major fundraisers each year,
our "Ride Off The Stuffing" poker run to benefit
Habitat for
Humanity
on the Sunday after Thanksgiving; and our
keynote "April Fools Fun Run" in April, which raises money for
the Chapter's charitable donations and activities. Our dealership is a major sponsor of the
annual
Leesburg Bikefest
during
the last
week in April. Our Chapter assists in running the biker games during Bikefest, and actively supports what has become one of Florida's major
biker events. Lake County H.O.G. also rides in support of the
keynote charity fundraising events of our fellow Central Florida chapters.
Add to that our annual Holiday Party, Shrimp Boil, Progressive Dinner and
overnighters, and you can see that Lake County H.O.G.
is a fun place to be. And for a little variety, many of us plan each
year to travel to one or more of the nearby State H.O.G. rallies, as well
as to Cocoa Beach for the 2008
Florida
State H.O.G. Rally. Volunteers from our chapter will also
be involved in helping make the 2008 Florida State Rally another
great event. And speaking of fun, being a H.O.G.
member has many fun-filled benefits, including being able to join a local
H.O.G. chapter, such as ours, as well as participate in some neat programs
that are absolutely free. Two such programs are the H.O.G. Mileage Program and the ABCs Of Touring. To download the
registration forms and official guidelines for these programs and find out
about other benefits of membership, be sure to visit the
Harley Owners Group Home Page.
